Hi, I'm Kristina Elyse Butke: author, playwright and composer.

Kristina Elyse Butke's Bio:

Kristina Elyse Butke is originally from Flushing, Queens but grew up in Ohio. For most of her life she’s been a playwright but has since pursued her lifelong dream to write fiction. 


She has a BA in English Literature from Capital University and has written theatrical productions for the Ohio State University, including a full-length musical (Melancholia) for which she wrote the book, music, and lyrics. She also studied abroad in Wales at Trinity St. David's (Carmarthen) for a semester as an undergraduate at Capital.

She recently graduated from Seton Hill University with an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction, and her genres of choice are fantasy and horror. Her graduate thesis, The Name and the Key, is her first novel; she’s also at work on the companion novel The Step and the Walk and a sequel, The Eye and the Storm.


Kristina is a member of The Association of Writers and Writing Programs, the Columbus Creative Cooperative, and the Columbus Museum of Art, and a supporter ofThe Thurber HouseNational Novel Writing Month(Nanowrimo), and the In Your Write Mind Workshop, sponsored by the Seton Hill Writing Popular Fiction Alumni. She also presents writing panels at conventions such as Colossalcon.
